The ingredient:
4 pounds meaty pork ribs
200 CC water
1 teaspoon soybean sauce
1 teaspoon tamarind concentrate
3 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons honey
4 teaspoons coconut oil
1 teaspoon freshly ginger
1 teaspoon chili sauce
6 cloves garlic
1/4 teaspoon five spice powder.
Lets make it:
Put meaty pork ribs in large saucepan. Cover with water and the 1 teaspoon soybean sauce. Bring to a boil,heat and simmer 15 minutes. After that, let it cool. Preheat oven to 200°F. Cover baking sheet with aluminum foil.
In medium bowl, mix remaining ingredients. Coat each meaty pork ribs with sauce; arrange on baking sheet.
Roast 10 minutes. Reduce oven to 175°F. Pour with sauce. Roast 10 to 15 minutes longer or until tender. Serve with Balinese Slaw (recipe follows) or your favorite cole slaw recipe.
Makes 6 servings.
Notes: 1) Ribs may be marinated in sauce 4 to 24 hours. 2) Tamarind, sambal oelek and five spice powder can be found in Asian sections of some supermarkets or in many Asian grocery stores.
Balinese Slaw:
2 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon freshly ginger
1/4 teaspoon coconut oil
1/2 teaspoon salt Pinch white pepper and black pepper
3 cups prepared broccoli slaw or prepared cole slaw
In large bowl mix mayonnaise, sugar, ginger, coconut oil, salt and pepper. Add vegetables; toss. Makes 7 (2 cup) servings.
